080 VIP Lounge Bengaluru T2 Review: Quieter and Premium, But Is It Better Than T1?

080 VIP Lounge Bengaluru T2 Review: Quieter and Premium, But Is It Better Than T1?

Bengaluru Airport’s Terminal 2 already has one of the most impressive domestic lounges in the country. But inside the massive 080 Lounge, there is a separate VIP section that many travellers may not even realise exists.

Known as the Courtyard Club, this is essentially a more exclusive section within the main 080 Lounge at T2.

I accessed it using my ICICI Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, and the difference was immediately noticeable. Fewer people, separate seating, better interiors and a much quieter environment.

Having recently visited the 080 VIP Lounge at Terminal 1 as well, the obvious question was: which one is better?

Surprisingly, while T2 feels more premium when it comes to seating and ambience, I still prefer the overall experience at T1.

Here’s why.

080 VIP Lounge T2 Location

The lounge is located airside in Terminal 2 Domestic Departures at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru.

You need to clear security first and then head towards the main 080 Domestic Lounge.

The VIP section is not a completely separate lounge. It is located inside the main 080 Lounge and is known as the Courtyard Club.

You first enter through the regular 080 Lounge reception. Once your eligible card or lounge QR is verified, the staff will direct you towards the separate VIP section.

This is worth knowing because searching for a separate "080 VIP Lounge" inside T2 can get confusing.

First Impression: Quieter and More Premium

This is easily the biggest advantage of the T2 VIP section.

The regular 080 Lounge at T2 is huge and visually impressive, but it can also get quite busy.

The Courtyard Club feels completely different.

It has a separate seating area with significantly fewer people and a much calmer atmosphere. The interiors feel premium, and the seating is more spread out and comfortable compared to the main lounge.

It feels more private and relaxed, which is exactly what I would expect from a VIP lounge.

If you want to get away from the crowds, work peacefully or simply relax before your flight, this section does the job very well.

Food: Average and Nothing Special

This is where the experience starts falling short.

The VIP section does not have a separate main buffet. You use the same buffet as guests in the regular 080 Lounge.

And the buffet is quite a walk from the VIP section.

So every time you want to get food, you need to walk back to the main lounge buffet, pick up your food and bring it all the way back.

For something positioned as a VIP experience, this could definitely have been better.

As for the food itself, I found it average.

There was enough variety to have a proper meal, but nothing particularly stood out. It was standard airport lounge food rather than something I would specifically look forward to.

This is also where T1 080 VIP Lounge is clearly better for me.

T1 080 VIP Has a Much Better Food Experience

The T1 VIP Lounge has an à la carte menu with a wide variety of dishes that you can order, something completely missing from the T2 VIP experience.

T1 also has more food options overall, including live counters.

That makes a big difference.

At T1, the VIP experience extends beyond just having a quieter place to sit. The food and made-to-order options make it feel more like a genuinely upgraded lounge experience.

At T2, you're primarily getting a premium and quieter seating area while eating from the same buffet as the regular lounge.

If food is important to you, I would easily pick T1.

One Complimentary Drink

One additional benefit of the T2 VIP section is one complimentary drink per guest.

It's a nice addition and gives the VIP section at least some differentiation from the regular lounge when it comes to F&B.

Still, considering this is a VIP section, I would have preferred a dedicated food menu or à la carte ordering similar to T1.

Which Credit Cards Give Access to the 080 VIP Lounge at T2?

Access to the VIP section is much more restricted than access to the regular 080 Lounge.

I personally accessed it using my ICICI Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card.

Some of the other cards known or reported to provide access to the T2 080 VIP Lounge / Courtyard Club include:

  • ICICI Emeralde Private Metal

  • ICICI Times Black

  • ICICI Emeralde

  • IndusInd Tiger

  • IndusInd Pioneer cards

  • IndusInd Avios Visa Infinite

  • BOB Eterna

  • BOB Etihad Guest cards

  • DBS Vantage

  • YES Private

There are also select premium debit cards with reported access, including ICICI Private Banking Debit, YES Bank Premia/First/Apex/Eclectic Debit, DBS Signature/EaseMyTrip Debit and Equitas Elite Debit.

One important thing to remember is that access to the regular 080 Lounge does not automatically mean you can access the VIP section.

The Courtyard Club has a much smaller list of eligible cards.

Card eligibility and lounge-access rules also change frequently, so always check the latest eligibility before travelling.

You Can Generate a Lounge QR Online

You don't necessarily need to swipe your physical credit card at the lounge.

With an eligible card, you can generate a lounge-access QR through the LoungeOne website and present the QR at the lounge.

That's how I accessed the lounge using my ICICI Emeralde Private Metal.

It is particularly useful if you don't have the physical card with you.

Generate the QR before heading to the lounge, keep your boarding pass ready and the entry process is quite straightforward.

T2 VIP vs T1 VIP: Which One Is Better?

Having now visited both, I would pick the T1 080 VIP Lounge for the overall experience.

T2 certainly wins when it comes to the design and scale of the overall lounge, and the Courtyard Club is quieter and more exclusive than sitting in the regular T2 lounge.

But T1 feels like a more complete VIP product.

The biggest difference is food.

At T1, you get an à la carte menu with a wide variety of dishes that can be ordered directly, along with more food options and live counters.

At T2 VIP, you are largely getting a premium seating area while using the same buffet as everyone else.

That makes the T2 VIP proposition feel slightly incomplete.

Where T2 VIP is better

The separate seating, quieter environment and premium interiors make it a great place to relax before a flight.

If the regular lounge is crowded, having access to the Courtyard Club makes a noticeable difference.

Where T1 VIP is better

Food, without a doubt.

The à la carte menu, wider selection and live counters make T1 feel like a more complete VIP lounge experience.

Verdict

The 080 VIP Lounge at Bengaluru T2 Domestic is definitely an upgrade over sitting in the regular 080 Lounge.

The biggest benefit is simple: fewer people, better seating and a much quieter environment.

And considering how crowded airport lounges can get, that itself has considerable value.

But the food experience prevents it from feeling like a truly differentiated VIP lounge.

The buffet is shared with the regular lounge, it's a fairly long walk from the VIP section, and the food itself was average during my visit.

If I had to choose between Bengaluru Airport's two domestic 080 VIP experiences, T1 would still be my pick.

Its à la carte dining, wider food selection and live counters make it feel like a more complete VIP experience.

T2, on the other hand, is excellent if what you primarily want is a quieter and more premium place to sit before your flight.

If your credit card gives you access, I would absolutely choose the VIP section over the regular T2 lounge.

Just don't go in expecting the same food experience as T1.
