Finding a quiet and comfortable space at Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1 can be challenging, especially during peak travel hours. The Encalm Privé Lounge, Terminal 1 Delhi addresses this effectively by offering a calm, well-managed, and premium environment away from the crowded terminal.
During my recent visit, the lounge maintained a noticeably relaxed and organized atmosphere, making it a suitable space to unwind before departure. With controlled occupancy and efficient operations, it stands out as a premium alternative within the domestic terminal.
Here is my detailed experience from a recent visit:
Location & Access
The lounge is situated at Mezzanine Level 5, Domestic Departures, Terminal 1. Once you clear security, head towards the elevators/escalators to reach Level 5.
I accessed the lounge using my ICICI Emerald Private Metal (EPM) Credit Card, which provided complimentary access. The check-in process was seamless, and the reception staff was exceptionally warm, courteous, and welcoming.
Ambience & Vibe
While the main terminal at T1 is often buzzing and chaotic, the Encalm Privé was a sanctuary. During my visit, it was fairly empty with only 5–6 people, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere that felt truly "private." The interior is polished and inviting, offering a welcome respite from the airport rush.

Dining & Service
One of the standout features is the à la carte menu, which gives the lounge a premium, restaurant-like feel. The menu offers a wide variety of options across Indian and continental selections, allowing guests to choose freshly prepared dishes based on personal preference rather than relying on limited buffet offerings.

Service: The staff was prompt and attentive. Food preparation time was fairly quick, and the hospitality throughout was genuinely impressive.
Food & Drink: The food quality was generally good, satisfying, and well-presented, although I felt the taste could be enhanced. The menu is complemented by a wide variety of desserts, which help complete the dining experience . They also offer a decent, well-curated selection of complimentary wines and spirits, which were well-served.
The Highlight: The live Chai Counter is the absolute star of the show, especially during the Delhi winter. The chai was excellent and provided that perfect sense of comfort before a flight.

⚠️ It is important to note that there are no restrooms located inside the lounge. You will need to use the terminal facilities located nearby on the same floor or back in the main area. While a minor inconvenience, it’s something to plan for if you’re settled in for a long stay.
Final Verdict
The Encalm Privé at T1 Level 5 is a solid, reliable choice for travelers. If you have the right card for access, the combination of top-tier hospitality, a quiet environment, and that outstanding chai makes it a must-visit.
