HSBC is upgrading the Live+ Credit Card from the Visa Signature platform to Visa Infinite, effective 26 July 2026.
The upgrade brings meaningful improvements to one of the card's biggest selling points: its 10% cashback benefit. In addition to dining, food delivery and groceries, cardholders will now earn 10% cashback on shopping and utility bill payments as well. At the same time, the monthly cashback cap is being increased from ₹1,000 to ₹1,200.
Beyond cashback, the card also gains new travel and lifestyle benefits, including complimentary international lounge access, fuel cashback, and additional Visa Infinite privileges.
What's Changing?
Feature | Earlier (Visa Signature) | From 26 July 2026 (Visa Infinite) |
|---|---|---|
10% cashback categories | Dining, food delivery, groceries | Dining, food delivery, groceries, shopping, utility bills |
Monthly cashback cap | ₹1,000 | ₹1,200 |
Shopping & utility spends | 1.5% cashback | 10% cashback (within the ₹1,200 monthly cap) |
Amazon, Flipkart & Myntra | 1.5% cashback | 1.5% cashback (unchanged) |
Domestic lounge access | 4 visits per year | 4 visits per year (unchanged) |
International lounge access | Not available | 1 visit per year |
Fuel benefit | None | ₹250 cashback per quarter on eligible fuel spends |
10% Cashback Now Covers Shopping and Utility Bills
Until now, the Live+ Credit Card offered 10% cashback only on dining, food delivery and grocery purchases, with all other eligible spends earning 1.5% unlimited cashback.
From 26 July 2026, shopping and utility bill payments will also qualify for the 10% cashback category. The accelerated cashback across all five categories will be subject to a combined monthly cap of ₹1,200.
One important point remains unchanged: purchases made on Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra will continue to earn 1.5% cashback and will not be eligible for the 10% cashback rate.
New Travel Benefits
With the move to Visa Infinite, HSBC is also enhancing the card's travel benefits.
Cardholders will now receive:
1 complimentary international airport lounge visit per year
4 complimentary domestic lounge visits per year (one per quarter, unchanged)
In addition, Visa Infinite cardholders will have access to benefits such as:
Airport Meet & Assist services
Complimentary stays at select ITC Hotels
Offers on Avis car rentals
Quarterly Fuel Cashback Introduced
HSBC has also added a new fuel benefit.
Cardholders who spend ₹10,000 or more on contactless fuel transactions during a calendar quarter will receive ₹250 cashback for that quarter. This benefit was not available on the previous Visa Signature version of the card.
Why This Upgrade Matters
At a time when many credit card issuers have reduced rewards through lower caps, tighter spending limits and devaluations, HSBC has taken the opposite approach with the Live+ Credit Card.
The expansion of the 10% cashback categories, a higher monthly cashback cap, and the addition of travel benefits make the card more versatile than before. Instead of being primarily a dining and grocery cashback card, Live+ now offers stronger value across everyday spending categories while also improving its travel proposition.
Fees and Availability
HSBC has not announced any changes to the card's fee structure.
The HSBC Live+ Credit Card continues to carry a ₹999 + GST joining and annual fee, which is waived on annual spends of ₹2,00,000.
HSBC's retail banking and credit card services are available only in select cities across India. Prospective applicants should check service availability before applying, while existing cardholders can expect further communication from HSBC before the upgrade takes effect on 26 July 2026.
